Céline Claudon is Chief Commercial Officer at the International Woodland Company (IWC), a leading natural capital specialist, and is today working with IWC’s commercial strategy and the promotion of natural capital investments. Céline has over 20 years of experience within natural capital investing, and is member of IWC’s Executive Committee, Sustainability Committee, and Business Development Committee. Prior to her current role, Céline spent 18 years in IWC’s advisory team, identifying and evaluating natural capital investment managers as well as selecting fund, secondary, co-investment, separate account, and individual asset investment opportunities on behalf of IWC’s clients, representing a total natural capital portfolio of over USD 5 billion. Within the frame of her experience in IWC's advisory team, Céline has developed a strong expertise in institutional investors’ needs and constraints relating to natural capital. She has helped a diverse range of institutional investors define and implement their natural capital strategies, adapted to their needs, including risk/return appetite, diversification preferences, and biodiversity, carbon, EU taxonomy alignment, etc. Céline also has developed a large network of asset managers within sustainable forestry, ecosystem restoration, and farmland worldwide, and has experience in both in developed markets (North America, Europe, Oceania) and emerging markets (Latin America, Africa, Asia). While doing due diligence on new opportunities and overseeing natural capital investments, Céline has participated in the development of tools to help improve climate change assessments and environmental evaluations, data collection, and reporting. Céline holds an MBA from the University of Northern Iowa, USA, and a master’s in finance from the University of Paris-Saclay, France.
